(28/05/99) The-Gadgeteer has posted an excellent review on all the audio players for WindowsCE. Click HERE.
(25/05/99) I would be gratefull if somebody that has the CE Upgrade for his/her HP62/60LX could tell me how it works and submit new tips for this newest operating system.
(20/05/99) The Windows CE Discussion Board is fully functional. I hope that you will all enjoy it. I know that it will take a while to be used but I count on all of you to make it alive and interesting. You can post questions as well as anything that is related to WindowsCE.
(13/05/99) Finally I've finished my International Baccalaureat!!! I'm so happy, for now, because I'll know the results only on the 8th of July... Well, from now on, I'll have some free time to look for news about the HP and WindowsCE. I'll try to make a discussion board as fast as I can but I have to find another server for that. Anyway, I welcome any comments, tips and news...
HP announced an OS upgrade for the HP620LX and the HP660LX. The ones who will really enjoy the upgrade will be the owners of the HP620LX because the upgrade gives a total of 32 megs of RAM. The upgrade provides a new OS (Operating System), like the HPC Pro's OS and new applications from HP. HP's applications provide 64K color and MP3 player support!!! (what a shame that there are no earphone jacks); full backup capabilities; an HP viewer for enhanced viewing of PIM information; and HP quick pad, which allows users to quickly capture and organize personal data. The Upgrage will cost 179$ and will be available in June. If you want to know more about this OS upgrade, Click HERE.
Finally HP didn't leave us with those huge new HPC PROs. The HP Jornada 680 is as big as the 620LX but the keyboard is much better with bigger keys (sort of PSION 5). We find again a nice design. It features a built-in 56K modem, the standard battery lasts up to 8 hours and the extended battery can last up to 24 hours!!! The unfortunate thing is that it is still a 6.5" CSTN 256 color screen (you can still download my backgrounds ;-) ) and has only 16 megs of RAM. What I would suggest to people who already have a 620LX or a 660LX is simply to upgrade the Operating System... If you want to know more, Click HERE.
