(29/09/99) Pretec Electronics just announced that they will commercialize flash cards (PCMCIA Type II) that can contain up to 700Mb of data!!! One glups is that it costs a bit, just a bit tooooooo much, 1750$... But well, it should go down within a year...
(28/09/99) HP's 400 Jornada will figure in the next James Bond! This is a good marketing idea... It should higher the sells of at least 15% at the end of the film. (Counting on that 1/5th of the people who go to see the movie are gadget fans...)
(25/09/99) I decided to rename the site to THE 600 ZONE as all the information found here is related to the HP 600 Series. When I'll have some free time, I'll redesign the site to be more flashy...
(25/09/99) Not much news these days... The 620LX's price went down 2 weeks ago to 499$ which is still a bit high. I heard that the ROM upgrade is a bit slower than CE 2.0 but is a real improvement. A real rival came out from the PSION factory. The new PSION features a color screen and tons of new stuffs, it could be a rival to the 820 series...
(20/09/99) I'm back for good now :) University is starting soon so no more vacation. I'll have time to look for news so don't worry... I looked for news but nothing really interesting. For the moment I bought a new computer but don't have RAM because the price tripled within the last 2 weeks :( When I finish installing NT Server on another machine I'll have time to look for more interesting news than this one ;-p
(02/09/99) I'm leaving on vacation (again!!! Some of you will say ;-) ). So the site won't probably be updated untill mid September, but if I catch some news, I'll post it via my GSM phone.
(02/09/99) IBM's Microdrive can fit in the compact flash card slot of an HPC. This is the smallest hard-drive of the world. It has already been annouced 1 and a half year ago but it just became available for the public. It is avalable in 2 versions, one with 170MB and the other one with 340MB of storage. This should kill the Sandisk's cards because in terms of MB, IBM is cheaper... I don't know how well this Microdrive support the shocks as it is a real hard-drive. It can be usefull to store anything on it, specially thinking for people who own a PPC because they can store their MP3 files on it... If you want to know more about this drive, click HERE.
